- Q. What is the minimum time I can rent for?
- A. There is no minimum rental period although a minimum charge of one month's rent applies.
- Q. What can I rent?
- A. We specialise in providing full household packages of furniture and accessories, but you can choose any combination of items from our inventories (we do not supply 1 off items). For ideas on what to select please see our Recommended Inventories.
- Q. Can I rent a Basic Home Pack if I don't have time to select specific items?
- A. Yes. Check our Recommended Inventories for a list of the basic items we would supply based on the size of your property.
- Q. How do I request a quotation?
- A. Simply click Request a quotation (Enquiry form) on the Menu to access our Online Quote Request form. You can select the items you want to rent and submit your quote request. We will send you a free quotation within one working day showing the monthly rental cost, delivery and collection charge and deposit.
- Q. How much notice do you need before delivery?
- A. We ask for 7/10 working days notice but can usually improve on this.
- Q. Do you deliver everywhere in the UK?
- A. Yes, we offer a nationwide service, although the delivery charges will depend on the destination.
- Q. When can you deliver?
- A. Once you have agreed the quote and arranged payment, we will arrange delivery on a date and time to suit you. We deliver and collect on weekdays between 8am and 5pm.
- Q. Do I have to be present at the installation?
- A. No. If it is difficult for you to arrange to meet us at the property, we are happy to collect keys from your lettings agent or appointed representative and return them afterwards.
- Q. Do you arrange the furniture on delivery?
- A. Our installation supervisor will ensure that your furniture is correctly installed, the kitchenware unpacked (and the beds made up if you have rented linens). All packaging from the furniture and accessories will be removed from the property by the delivery team.
- Q. Can I add extra items during the rental period?
- A. Yes. We can arrange to collect or deliver individual items during the rental period for an additional charge.
- Q. What do I do when I want the furniture collected?
- A. Simply telephone or email us to request collection and we will arrange a date and time. We ask for 7/10 working days notice but can usually improve on this. Our supervisor will pack up the accessories and ensure your furniture is removed quickly and efficiently. The collection process will take around two to three hours depending on the size of property so please allow for this if you are having your own furniture delivered on the same day.
- Q. How much will we save by renting short term furniture until our own furniture arrives?
- A. For a family of four the cost of renting furniture would be six times cheaper than the cost of staying in a mid priced hotel for one month.
- Q. How much cheaper is long term furniture rental compared to shipping?
- A. Furniture rental can save as much as 60% for a family relocating from the USA for a twelve month period compared to the cost of shipping furniture.
- Q. Why is furniture rental tax efficient?
- A. Value Added Tax on rental charges is recoverable by UK registered companies. In addition, furniture rental payments are fully deductible as a business expense (UK Tax Act Section 74).
- Q. What if I need to terminate my contract early?
- A. If collection of the rental goods is required prior to the expiry of the minimum rental period shown on the Agreement, then all outstanding rental payments until the end of the contractual period will become payable immediately. If the termination date of a furniture rental period in excess of 12 months is not known, we recommend that you take a contract for just the 12 months, and then extend as necessary.
- Q. Can I extend my contract?
- A. Unless we hear from you the rental will continue on a month-to-month basis until you are ready for us to collect.
- Q. What are the payment terms?
- A. We require payment before delivery, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch or Solo or payment by cheque or bank transfer. For rental periods of three months or less, the initial invoice will include the full rental charge together with the deposit and the delivery installation and collection charge. For rental periods of over three months, the initial invoice will include three months rental together with the deposit and the delivery installation and collection charge. Thereafter invoices will be payable quarterly in advance.
- Q. Do I have to pay a deposit?
- A. For rental periods of up to eleven months we require a deposit of one month's rental. For rental periods of twelve months and over we require a deposit of three months rental. Your deposit will be returned within four weeks after we have collected the furniture provided all the items can be cleaned or repaired to an acceptable standard during that period. Deductions will be made to cover the cost of damage over and above normal wear and tear, to replace items damaged beyond repair and to cover costs if professional cleaning has been necessary.
- Q. Are the furniture and accessories insured?
- A. All our furniture and accessories are insured against loss by fire and flood or by theft when there has been forced entry or exit to locked premises. The cost of this insurance is incorporated in the monthly rental charge.
- Q. What if anything gets damaged?
- A. The goods are not insured against accidental or malicious damage, the costs for which will be charged.
- Q. What if any item is faulty?
- A. Simply report the fault to us and a repair or replacement will be arranged as soon as possible.
- Q. Does the furniture comply with Health and Safety standards?
- A. All of our goods meet the 1988 safety regulations for furnishing rental properties.
- Q. Can I purchase the furniture?
- A. We will be happy to provide a quote for purchase at the end of the rental period. Please contact us.
- Q. Do you have a brochure?
- A. Yes although we work predominantly through our website which enables you to choose your furniture and accessories online. Ask for a brochure if you want one!
